OTHER USES AND VERSIONS OF MODAL AUXILIARIES
ADDICTIONS
Until now we have come to know how to say our present habits, past habits and Future habits like this:
I do play cricket everyday. (Present)
I used to play cricket once. (Past)
I will play cricket from tomorrow onwards. (Future)
Now we can come to know how to say our addictions also.
Here addictions means the works which we can't be without doing either willy or null.
Generally these are conveyed with three words like "Habituated to, Addicted to and Used to".
Habituated to is used for frequently done works.
Addicted to is used for bad ones.
Used to is used for regular works.
NOTE: Before these three words we must use 'be' forms and after this 'habituated to' we can use 'M.V Ing form (Gerund) or M.V Ist form also.
By changing "Be forms" we can convey Present addictions, Past addictions and we can use them with Modal Auxiliaries also.
Using 'Be' forms before this 'habituated to' is related to the application of object rule (Passive) that means something makes us to be habituated.
Examples:
