TENSES - CONTINUOUS TENSES
The works what we are doing are called continuous works. Mainly there are two kinds of continuous works.
They are:
1. Real Continuous works (or) Progressive actions.
2. Perfect Continuous Works.
These two real an perfect continuous works are related to 3 timings. So, we can find that there are totally six kinds of Continuous works.
In them Real continuous works of Present, Past and Future are:
- Present Continuous Tense.
- Past Continuous Tense.
- Future Continuous Tense.
Besides them the Perfect Continuous works of Present, Past and Future are called:
- Present Perfect Continuous Tense.
- Past Perfect Continuous Tense.
- Future Perfect Continuous Tense.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
The difference between real continuous tenses and perfect continuous tenses is like this.
- Real Continuous works: The continuous works which are going on at some particular time in Present and in Past and in Future are called Real Continuous works. Related to these works the starting point of them are not considered.
- Perfect Continuous Works: The real continuous works which are said with their starting point are called Perfect continuous works. In-fact thee three actions were started in the Past only.
- The meanings of all these six continuous woks is same. There is difference in time only.
But related to Object based views we must use "being + M.V 3rd form".
NOTE:
1. In these six continuous tenses the Passive Rule is applied only for Present Continuous Tense and Past Continuous Tenses, for the rest of the 4 continuous Tenses the Passive rule is not applied.
2. Here to satisfy the rule of continuous Tenses and the rule of Passive before "Being" we must use "am / is /
are in Present Continuous Tense and
"was / were" in Past Continuous Tense.
Present Continuous Tense: Obj + am / is / are + being +
M.V 3rd form + .....
Past Continuous Tense: Obj + was / were + being + M.V 3rd form + ....
