MAIN VERBS (OR) ACTION VERBS
According to this vision again these Mai Verbs are divided into two more types.
They are:
1. Finite Verbs
2. Non-Finite Verbs.
1. FINITE VERBS: The verbs which are strongly controlled by persons, animals and the number of their subjects are called Finite Verbs.
Ex: I go market everyday.
The dog barks.
The Sun rises in the east.
They came to Hyderabad.
I voted for genuine leader.
2. NON-FINITE VERBS: The verbs which are not controlled by the persons or animals etc., straightly are called Non-Finite Verbs.
Ex: I want to play Cricket.
They tried to come here.
These Non-finite Verbs are three:
1. Infinite Verbs.
2. Participle forms of Main Verbs.
3. Gerund
1. Infinitive Verbs: These are two types again
a) Base Infinitive
b) To-infinitive
a) Base Infinitive: The Main Verbs which are used after Modal Auxiliaries
are called Base Infinitives
Ex: I shall meet you tomorrow.
They can solve the problem.
You must achieve our goals.
b) To - Infinitive Verbs: The verbs which are preceded by "to" are called
"To-infinitive" verbs.
Ex: I decided to start a business.
He would like to become a doctor.
They start to come here.
I asked him to help me.
They forced one to talk.
2. Participle Forms of Main Verbs: The Past Participle form and the Present Participle forms are also called as Non-finite Verbs.
Past Participle forms:
Ex: I have gone to temple.
The notes was checked.
The chair has been broken.
Present Participle forms:
Ex: I am running.
He is preparing.
I saw him thiefting the money.
After coming to know the forms and types of Helping Verbs and Main Verbs we should come to know how to balance them correctly in a sentence and in a question.
