TENSES - CONTINUOUS WORKS
PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE and PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE:
The works that we convey what we were doing at some time in Past are related to Past Continuous Tense.
Here we use was / were + M.V ing form in the Subject based views.
But in the Object based views we must use "being + M.V 3rd form after
was / were".
Examples:
Subject base: Sub + was / were + M.V Ing form + .....
I was writing notes at 4 pm yesterday.
He was conducting a seminar at 10am 2 days ago.
They were doing business last year.
Object base: Obj + was / were + being + M.V 3rd form + .....
The notes was being written at 4pm yesterday.
A seminar was being conducted at 10am 2 days ago.
The business was being done last year.

PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
The works which were started in Past and who continued up to some period and were ended at some point are related to Past Perfect Continuous Tense.
In simple words these are the Past continuous works which are said with their starting and ending timings.
To say these actions we use "Had + been + M.V ing form" in
Subject based views.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
- Generally this tense is also used to show which was already in progress before any other completed actions like Past Perfect.
Example:
Sub + had + been + M.V ing form + .......
I had been talking from 6 to 7pm yesterday.
We had been living here from 2005 to 2008.
I had been playing Chess for 2 hours when he came here.
They had been doing the business for 10 years when we joined them
as partners.
