POSSESSION (POSSESSIVENESS)
"Possessiveness" means our right (or) our ownership that we have on something and some place, some people and some qualities (or) character.
Our possessiveness is said with the possessive forms like "HAS, HAVE and HAD" considering their basic meanings.
In them HAS and HAVE are used to say Present Possessiveness. Here 'has' is used for singular subjects, 'have' is used for plural subjects.
To say the Past possessiveness we use 'had' for all subjects.
While saying our possessiveness with 13 Modal Auxiliaries with below 100% guarantee, after them we must use 'have'.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
1. These "has, have and had" are considered as Main Verbs also as they are used in the sense of "eat, drink, bathe, take and get". So, while saying our possessiveness generally we should not add "Ing" form to "Have".
2. While saying our possessiveness in negative we should not use 'not' after
them.
3. We should not Question with 'Has, have and had' related to
Possessiveness.
- To avoid these three mistakes we do better to use 'do' forms for saying negative and for asking the questions and to avoid using 'having' in Possessiveness.
4. While saying our Possessiveness with the supporting of "Do" forms,
after them we just use 'have' only as follows:
Have = do + have Plural (Present)
Has = does + have Singular (Present)
Had = did + have Plural (Past)
